Apparently drunk serenading traditional Irish songs under the sheriff’s window is now a thing in canon.. Gosh I love 1872

Also I think that the writers choose this particular song just to mess with us *cough civil war cough*

ep-0000:

I’ve read the 1872 #2…
The 3rd page is Tony’s flashback that I imagined, wondering what ‘Not tonight’ means. And the episode of the page had been happening a bit frequently before Steve fought against some villains to save Tony in the issue #1. I wanted to express it in the comic without this kind of explanation but I didn’t have enough time for it.
Also I was wondering it is the sheriff’s office that blurred on the map of 1872. If it is, I hope that was brought about by Tony’s tears.

“Robert Downey Jr. wanted to do that (the ‘Demon in a Bottle’ storyline). That’s his favourite Iron Man storyline for obvious reasons. Part of his attraction to the character in the first place was those stories but attitude to their line (of films) was much more upbeat and light-hearted and (Jon) Favareau said, ‘It’ll never get done, it’s way too dark.’ It wasn’t the tone they were going for and I understand that. The scene in Iron Man 2, when he is drunk and out of control at his own party, is there to placate Downey, who wanted to play an out-of-control Tony Stark and I think they wrote that in there to give him a chance to do that. So he could feel like he did a little bit of ‘Demon in a Bottle’.”
