Apparently Hans Zimmer didn’t really know what Interstellar was about when he composed the soundtrack. Christopher Nolan gave him bits and pieces of script to reflect some emotional pieces, but didn’t inform him of the plot because he didn’t want Zimmer to subconsciously make sci-fi themed music.
It’s so crazy to think about that because the soundtrack fits so well with the movie it’s kind of mind-blowing.

→ Interstellar (2014)Cooper: We’ve always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that. Or perhaps we’ve just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we’ve barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.
