okay but, imagine dragons who take on the shape of people a lot! and so instead of jewels & gold their hoards are people like friends and family and loved ones and significant other(s)! and they’re incredibly protective of their ‘hoard’ and admiring/polishing their ‘hoard’ means lots of praise for their friends and loved ones and complimenting them and buying them things and taking care of them!! and they make sure they’re happy and safe and maybe their SO(s) are their prized ‘crown jewels’.

i dunno i just like the idea of dragons making a lot of human friends and collecting people and taking care of them and they’re all happy!!
