WIZARDING SCHOOLS AROUND THE WORLD: SOUTH AFRICA

Clinging haphazardly to the jagged sides of the Drakensberg escarpment, the South African Institute for Witches and Wizards is an impressive conglomeration of architectural wonder and eccentric contraptions that keep the sprawling institute welded to the steep slopes of the mountains. Many say roaming the institute is an arduous test of one’s stamina as the primarily vertical layout of the institute relies on a plethora of stairs to navigate (luckily it has gotten better after the restriction on the indoor use of broomsticks was lifted). Over centuries, many pockets of shallow caves have been dug out and furnished by students who like to spend their free time observing the vast landscape before them from high up in the mountainside. The student population supplies much of the profits for Mava’s Zoomtastic Glasses, which is a popular accessory for observing the abundance of wildlife that roam the lands.

having grown up with the HP series, i have said on multiple occasions that i am hermione granger. it’s no coincidence that we’ve never been in the same room, and i too am a magical bossy know-it-all with big hair who’s smart in school.

but now…now it’s OFFICIAL. and here are the pics to prove it~

this is my golden trio!!! hermione is black (family from eritrea), and harry is mixed-race, white and desi (potters from south india). rons a white boy. i hc hermione a little chubby with a very Pear body type and harry and ron are both weedy twigs until like 5th year. clothes wise hermione wears blouses with rounded collars, patterned turtlenecks, and probably a lot of tourist tee-shirts that she and her parents buy while traveling. harry of course wears dudley hand-me-downs and probably ron hand-me-downs eventually, and ron wears hand-me-downs and a lot of stuff mrs weasley handmakes. 

(harry is probably saying “it was snape” while hermione tries not to shoot him down immediately, she is thinking about her perfect homework scores, ron is about to vehemently agree. it was TOTALLY snape. absolutely.)

i like to imagine that after the war ends & everything gets cleaned up, the three of them get a flat together while they recuperate & try to figure out where to go from there.  and they all have a tough time of it at first, but eventually they create someplace all of them can call home.
